Old news, @briank , but you can bet the other major home broadband suppliers will follow suit. BTW, this is a BT GROUP, not purely Plusnet decision/action.

Price hikes are not applied to existing agreed contracts.

Every new contract requires a willing buyer as well as a willing seller. I would always recommend looking at the overall price of a contract over the full term and compare it with ISPs who do not apply mid contract increases.

It's always worth ringing in to see if you can haggle the price down.

People complained about the %age + cpi and now are complaining because the price hikes are higher than the previous method. My personal opinion is that the cost shouldn't be allowed to rise during the contracted period.

In effect, it doesn't. You know at the start exactly how much it will cost over the contracted period. The problem is that many people won't look at that, they'll look at the headline starting price.
