Why is domain name renewal so expensive with PlusNet?

On behalf of one of my referrals, please see ticket 149150584

Why is the renewal of a .net domain so very expensive via PlusNet at £93 for 2 years against £70 for 10 years with the likes of lcn.com?

How does one get the registration migration inhibition flag removed please?

Because they can 😉
Same as insurance renewals they rely on inertia.

I believe you have to ask for it to be transferred and it incurs a charge.

Many registrars will transfer in for free.  When they do charge it usually covers an extension to the existing registration - in this case, the domain expires very soon, so a transfer to (say) lcn.com at their published prices would be far, far cheaper.

I was taking about the OUT not the IN.
I transferred my domain to 123reg since they were the cheapest for renewals on .co.uk. (Not from PN though from another registrar)
