Re: My web site has disappeared overnight! PN ticket 23917011

This is a problem we are already aware of, you can see the existing thread on it here:-
http://community.plus.net/forum/index.php/topic,59469.0.html
There have also been 2 service status postings regarding this, they can be found here:-
http://usertools.plus.net/status/archive/1200489548.htm
http://usertools.plus.net/status/archive/1200511119.htm
We are going to be putting another service status message out shortly.

Re: My web site has disappeared overnight! PN ticket 23917011

Thanks for the quick reply. I had looked first in this forum to see if others were suffering similar problems but found nothing. Therefore I thought it must be just me, which is why I didn't look at service status messages. It looks like I could put a copy of my site back on the server now - in my case, it doesn't matter if it gets overwritten by PN's version. They will be the same.

Re: Website "Forbidden"???

Erm...
Seems my site is no longer "Forbidden" but is just not there anymore which I guess is progress.
However, the Service Status update suggests I could put it back, but I can't as I still don't have FTP access.  Sad

Re: Website "Forbidden"???

I've just updated the service status thread:-
http://usertools.plus.net/status/archive/1200581821.htm

We are still recreating some website directories and recovering the content into these.

Re: Website "Forbidden"???

after over 24 hours downtime will there be compensation for those affected? if we have to upload our content from local copy people like me with lots of websites hosted with  you may go over our limit on band width will you make allowance for that.

as pointed out with no ftp working we cant upload as yet

Re: Website "Forbidden"???

What sort of compensation were you thinking of, samuria?
Plusnet do not actully provide an SLA for their hosting services, so I suspect the maximum compensation that you'd be entitled to would be a refund of the hosting charges that you've been billed for but have been unable to use.
As Plusnet offer their homepages service as a free addon, then the hosting charges you've paid would amount to.... nil.
I do see your point about the bandwidth allowance.  However, as most accounts are provisioned with 250mb or 500mb of webspace I can't see that making much of a dent in any of the allowances for any of the products (except maybe PAYG?)

Re: Website "Forbidden"???

36 hours and my sites still arnt back when will we know whos site has failed and when the restore has completed?
I can spend hours uploading taking up my bandwidth and then find  2 mins later you have restored it so I have wasted my time.
As I have 6 sites to restore its a big hit on my band width

On the other hand if mine is one thats failed I can get it uploaded. My bad luck as one site is 2 years work and I just bought a new pc and was going to download my sites as back up but didnt have time if its gone its 2 years work gone.
My search engine spider has been and reported a failure so thats stuffed for weeks.

The email out to affected customers will be sent today, we are just finalising it first.
Is the username you are looking for the one associated with this account?

Lucky you, some aren't so. Even so, are you confident that this is a one off?
