... if I can do it, anybody can.

Ok then I'll hold you to that!!!!  Undecided Undecided
I've been meaning to build a website for years.
Now that this forum is up and running with help like this at hand I'll have a go at it myself  soon.

Re: Website builder

When I was initially learning HTML I found some of the tutorials on this site very helpful.

one snag - looks fine on my screen @ 1024x768 but a hideous mess at 800x600 - how do you allow for that?

Hi Stewart.
I take it that your screen resolution is set at 1024x768. That being the case then as you create the page everything will be set out for that width of screen.
But when someone views the page using a lower screen resolution such as 800x600 then you cant squeeze 1024 pixels onto an 800 pixel wide screen.
So in essence the browser has to "word wrap" onto the next line the same as a word processing program does. And, unfortunately, in the case of images this really does make a page look abysmal.

Re: Website builder

A tip that may be useful is always design the site with the lowest common denominator in mind, ie design the site for use on 800*600 and it will work on all most peoples systems.
