Website Builder Software

Thanks for all the comments on my previous post.  yes I did build my site using MS Publisher which apparently is a big "no no".  I have downloaded Nvu and another software that was mentioined on this forum but they just seem totally alien to me.
I am an experienced PC user but have never done anything like this before and am so used to MS applications which have so many common tools across the packages - Publisher included.
Out of all the freebies available can anyone suggest one that is really easy to use - I only want to add text boxes, backgroun, few photos and maybe some background music.
In Publisher all five pages were saved as one file.  Am I right in thinking that in other softwares I will need to save each page separately?
Sorry to sound so think - I am really enjoying "having a go" - just wish I had more time to sit and play with it all.
Thanks.

A good place to start with basic html is at
http://vps.arachnoid.com/lutusp/html_tutor.html (see also
http://vps.arachnoid.com/lutusp/pagebuild.html ). You'll also find on the
Arachnoid site, the *free* (careware, no cash) program "Arachnophilia" -
http://vps.arachnoid.com/arachnophilia/index_old.html - there's a java
version but I still use the old 4.0 version for pagebuilding.
Arachnophilia will let you change up to 100-ish pages at once, if you want a standard-type layout for your site, btw.
Music for your page can be added with a simple line of code - you can get the code anywhere or I can pass on what we use here, if required.
Regards,
Penny.

Re: Website Builder Software

I tend to use Nvu (http://nvudev.com/index.php) if I'm looking for something graphical to use (or I'm just feeling lazy).
