Re: Web space

Try clearing your browser cache (or using a different browser)
I get 'It works' when I browse your site...

Obviously other persons entering http://www.austerfield.org.uk would also be directed to the same site...

That's certainly not the case, because it isn't happening for me, pwatson or OldJim Huh

Re: Web space

From the screen shot attached to reply #6 I can what looks to be content you have uploaded is in the wrong place. As Bob posted your content needs to be in public_HTML. If all that is in directory public_HTML is the index.html that Bob created "it works!" is all that you should see.

Re: Web space

One final note.
The default file should be named index.htm with a lower case "i"
As things stand, visitors are being shown a directory listing, not your website.

Re: Web space

OK Folks, there is something decidedly odd here!
Further to all that everyone's said, I am now seeing EXACTLY what Brian reported before - nothing.
This morning before my post above, when following his URL discussed above, I saw a directory listing of his site.  If I clicked on Index.htm I saw his site.
Now (I assume after Brian corrected the case spelling of the file name I see nothing when viewing on Safari (iPad) or when viewing in IE11 I get...

This content cannot be displayed in a frame

With a link to view in a new window.
Clicking the link takes me to http://www.madasafish.com/holdingpage.shtml

Brian - have you taken the content down or are you still having issues?

Re: Web space

All I can see as the page source is
Quote
<html>
<head>
<title>madasafish</title>
</head>
<frameset rows="*" cols="*,0" framespacing="0" frameborder="0">
<frame src="http://www.madasafish.com/holdingpage.asp">
<noframes>
<p>This page uses frames, but your browser does not support them.
</noframes>
</frameset>
</html>
and the frame is blank
The frame content should apparently be http://www.madasafish.com/holdingpage.shtml
I might add - using frames is not recommended as it can screw up all sorts of things
