Web space "This site has exceeded its bandwidth allowance" ?

Hello. My legacy web page http://www.cpartington.plus.com/  "This site has been removed because it has exceeded its bandwidth allowance." but it's a tiny 24Mb and pretty niche so not sure what happened, but the same happened some years ago and tech support fixed it with a phone call. Is there someone reading this who can sort it out? None of the old ways of raising tickets seem to work now.

Re: Web space "This site has exceeded its bandwidth allowance" ?

Have you got hi-res pictures on the site?

There are limits on both storage and bandwidth usage.  IIRC (I cannot find the info on-line) storage is limited to 250MB (confirmed) and bandwidth is limited to 250BM per day.

If the site is attracting a lot of access (indexing bots?) then 10 loads of the whole of the site could readily blow the BANDWIDTH allowance.

Restoration of the site will require a staff member to pick up the request here and know where to direct it.  I hope "ALBERT" knows what to do!  You could ask the same question of the staff on the call desk.

Superusers are not staff, but they do have a direct line of communication into the business in order to raise issues, concerns and feedback from the community.

Re: Web space "This site has exceeded its bandwidth allowance" ?

Thanks for your reply Townman. There is only a total of 24Mb on the site, it's mostly hand coded text and lists, a couple of pics, so nothing in the normal way of things should overload it. And hardly any visitors.

Bots are a law unto themselves.

The polite bots will take account of a 'go away' (do not crawl) file.

The impolite bots ignore such polite requests. They crawl.
