Hi
You can manually install it, if you download the latest version from their site, and then when installing it choose the FTP setup.

Ive had a look at installing this manually (encountered a few issues initially), but having got passed these, Ive hit a brick wall.
I now get a message:
googling this message indicates an issue at the host end rather than my install.
Do you know what this means?

Just to expand, im trying to install magento:
