VOIP with Plusnet

Hi

I hear about VOIP and at work we have normal phones that plug in just like our landline phone.

So really I am seeking a way to use the internet for our phone calls and avoid the charges and huge line rentals.

Got to cut back in the future sadly.

What advice can you give me please?

Re: VOIP with Plusnet

Currently you won't get away from having line rental as you need a line to run your broadband.

Re: VOIP with Plusnet

The only workaround would be a service from a mobile pone company such as a 4G/5G router

ADSL/FTTC/FTTP etc all rely on a bit of cable from your home to the exchange and it is this physical bit of wire that makes up the landline charge - literally a line that runs over (or under ) the land, be it handling voice calls or data  it still there.

Even with a mobile solution there will still be an infrastructure cost, although that will be well and truly hidden in the price
