Total Noob, Please Help!

Hi all!
I recently activated my webspace with plusnet. I can upload to my webspace and add pics and whatever, thats fine!
However, i purchased a domain from plusnet which is being hosted by them. How do i upload pics etc to this website, everytime i try it shows up on my webspace (i.e www,mrmarkus1981.plus.com) and nmot the domain i bought!
Any help is appreciated, or directions to an idiots guide is also cool!

Re: Total Noob, Please Help!

I'll made a change to the hosting directory set on your domain, this will take around 4 hours to complete.
You'd set it to /index.htm and as there wasn't a folder by that name, it was displaying blank.

Re: Total Noob, Please Help!

Still cant do this.
Every time i try and upload to either my webspace or the domain i bought, i get Error 550 : Access is Denied.
I have tried using Frontpage and ExpressionWeb.
Does anyone have a GOOD guide to the whole process (uploading via FTP)

Re: Total Noob, Please Help!

If you use Firefox then FireFTP (a Firefox add-on) is very good for uploading to your webspace.

or if in Internet Explorer go to ftp://ftp.plus.net and use your normal Plusnet username and password for access. That should let you in fine and you can drag and drop files into your webspace.

Re: Total Noob, Please Help!

Ol have managed to take a few extra steps now and have a website running.
The problem now is that there are thumbnails missing. If you go to www.ellen-wilson.co.uk the to gallery, then pick a category. There are lots of pics missing, i have logged into ftp://ellen-wilson.co.uk and all the actual files are present, so they have uploaded correctly. They just dont show on the site.
If need be i am happy to give my username/password so someone with more knowledge can have a look and see what the problem might be. I uploaded the pics the same way as i did the others (the ones that work!) so i dont know where its gone wrong!
HELP....ANYONE?

Re: Total Noob, Please Help!

Could the long messy file names be part of the problem?

Re: Total Noob, Please Help!

the file name "%20£17..jpg">"  has two period in it this is a no no, I assume it goes through the rest of the picture names

Re: Total Noob, Please Help!

It's likely to be related either to the presence of a ' in the name, or perhaps the £ sign.
It is good practice to shorten image names substantially.  Maybe have "silverstag.jpg"

I will rename the files and see how i get on, no doubt this will screw up all the links though?

There are £ signs in the ones that work too though?

I am using Expression Web
