Re: Scamming email

That is clearly a phish email. The link will go to a non plusnet site, but the other obvious clue is the from address.

Please can the moderators remove the address, as it's more than likely to be a valid address, and should not be in these public forums. They won't be too happy to see it here. (Mav, you should have removed it when moving the post).

Re: Scamming email

Dear Mods, why has that post not been amended to delete the email address?

Re: Scamming email

@SpinDryer Because I assume that it was a private email address which could be seen by all and sundry including Google

Re: Scamming email

Absolutely Oldjim.

These forums are public.

The email address initially included is pretty much clearly a non service email and an end user on btinternet. They haven't given their permission for it to be published.

Virtually all scams/spam have fake or spoofed, often forged email addresses as the from address, and many times they belong to unsuspecting users. This can have consequences sometimes of that poor user receiving 10s of 1000s of bounce messages (or irate replies) in response to a spammer using a single email address as the from address. This can cause havoc and serious issues for businesses whose email systems could drown in all that noise.
