SafeGuard not working correctly

For several weeks SafeGuard has not been working properly. It's either selecting everything ON or everything OFF. I'm not able to toggle individual categories.
With SafeGuard ON, and the appropriate category OFF, even the comments on The Times website are blocked.
I've raised a question via the help desk as the only reply I receive is "IT are working on it".
Anyone else having issues?

What's Safeguard? I don't use it and have never found the need...so far.

Safeguard is included with all our broadband packages as part of your Plusnet Perks, Plusnet SafeGuard filters inappropriate web content - so you decide what your household can see.
By default I believe Safeguard is switched on so your content will be filter whether you like it or not.

Unlikely it's switched on by default, that would certainly be infringing somebody's perceived rights.....

Oh I see. Not much use in this household then. Now if it stopped spam emails etc that would be a very useful feature to have. But the rough and ready world. Best to know what is going on than to cover ones eyes Mind you got some 15 and 17 yrs coming here shortly. Maybe a bit late though. Most of them know more than me about the world!

I cannot not believe (yes it's a double negative) that Plusnet is just the name on the box, so to speak. I have it off, but were I to even think about activating it, I'd want to know its real provenance. how good it has been beyond Plusnet and BT family.

None of the replies received so far have been very helpful.
Many PlusNet Users don't even seem to be aware of SafeGuard.
