Request for some help with Freenetname Domain transfer

I have a current Plusnet broadband contract and my Plusnet email has already been transferred to Greenby.

However, I also have my own domain name, originally supplied by Freenetname and still maintained by Plusnet/<Madasafish. This has an attached email address "me@mydomain.co.uk" which is the one I most use, and absolutely rely upon.

Experience with Greenby so far has made me nervous about the possible consequences of the forthcoming transfer of the legacy brand emails and domains. I have therefore decided to bite the bullet and pre-empt any problems by seeking a transfer of my domain to Mythic Beasts before the trouble starts.

In anticipation, I have already set up a Mythic Beasts account as a first step, with my domain name set as "third-party", plus relevant mailbox and email details, ready to go.

I would now really appreciate some help from one of the wonderful Superusers.(PlusnetTony? Townman?) in getting the wheels in motion to have my domain name transferred out promptly.

Re: Request for some help with Freenetname Domain transfer

I see that my post has been moved to the "Everything Else" section. and this contains similar requests from other users who have been instructed to phone Customer Services in order to initiate their domain transfer..

Unfortunately, due to a severe and permanent medical condition I have fairly recently developed, my speech is now unintelligible, so phoning Customer Services is not a viable option for me.

I would therefore still like to ask for one of the Superusers to help me out with this request.

@Busychip   Not sure but I *think* @plusnettony could help with this one.

If you send him a PM with details of (a) the domain name (b) your (customer) username (c) the IPSTAG for Mythic Beasts, I would hope he'll be able to set the wheels in motion.

If that's not correct, or if he's away, no doubt one of the Help Team will see this post and arrange to get things progressed for you.

@Busychip, Look to use Relay UK. It is supported by PN.

Was a member for years, but moved from PN fttc to fttp from an AltNet. Getting 940Mb up and down. Happy to stay on here and try to help others. 

Re: Request for some help with Freenetname Domain transfer

@Busychip

As you will have read from the other posts, there is an established procedure for dealing with these requests. It will be picked up in the near future by a member of the Plusnet Help Team, who will contact you via a Private Message, no talking to agents should be required.

I'm afraid that these boards are not continually monitored by the relevant agents so the response is not immediate, especially on a Bank Holiday weekend.

Re: Request for some help with Freenetname Domain transfer

@Baldrick1  We thought there was an established procedure but this thread suggests otherwise.

https://community.plus.net/t5/Everything-else/Domain-transfer-request/m-p/2044451#M41253

Note the reply from the Forum rep .... "The customer support team have the systems and support available to manage domain requests."

Whether first line support have the required knowledge and experience to deal with Domain Transfers is questionable.

Re: Request for some help with Freenetname Domain transfer

I recall there is a post under a thread somewhere on here which used Nominet online form as an alternative route to update tag.

If someone could find forum post and link it that would be great.
