The free hosts I've been using for years are proving unreliable now my visitor numbers have increased.
Do Plusnet provide web hosting?

Try Tsohost https://www.tsohost.com/ although I use 1&1 https://www.1and1.co.uk/hosting-linux?__lf=Static&linkOrigin=&linkId=ct.nav.hosting.business which I have found very reliable
One difference between the two is that 1&1 don't have a bandwidth limit whereas Tsohost do but at 20GB per month it may not be a problem

My main aim is low cost, I'm trying to resist putting adverts on the site to fund it.
tsohost's "Lite hosting" looks good at £15 / year but I have no idea if I would meet their 5 GB bandwidth -- it's mostly text so I would hope so, a bit of research required I think

Thanks but the site is not worth that much.
I eventually went with "www.falcoda.co.uk", £18 (inc vat) for the year.
Surprisingly good so far.

I now need to find out how to make £18 per year from adverts.

In the industry we call this a kiddie/summer host
Bad signs:
invalid whois. http://whois.domaintools.com/falcoda.co.uk
Does not own servers. Is simply a heart internet reseller
Such low price considering the costs of servers at heart internet. which would lead one to assume he will do a runner
Good Signs:
Domain is oldish

So I doubt they will be "doing a runner" any time soon.
What's invalid about the whois ?

Very well priced with lots of nice features, customer support is 24/7 via live chat, have found them to be excellent so far.

On the 5gb package with domain name the maximum first year cost is £ 10.80 (set up fee, hosting free for first year) then £ 10.80 for the next year, plus 0.90p a month for hosting.
Now one else comes near on price and features and 24/7 CS, that i looked at before moving to them
