Recommend a web host.

Can anyone recommend a web host.
The free hosts I've been using for years are proving unreliable now my visitor numbers have increased.
Do Plusnet provide web hosting?

Re: Recommend a web host.

Not economically
Try Tsohost https://www.tsohost.com/ although I use 1&1 https://www.1and1.co.uk/hosting-linux?__lf=Static&linkOrigin=&linkId=ct.nav.hosting.business which I have found very reliable
One difference between the two is that 1&1 don't have a bandwidth limit whereas Tsohost do but at 20GB per month it may not be a problem

Re: Recommend a web host.

I use Vision Internet for my hosting. Very reliable, and excellent tech support when needed.

Personally I use Tsohost. Only once did I have to contact them for support and they responded within minutes.

Thanks for the suggestions.  Cheesy
My main aim is low cost, I'm trying to resist putting adverts on the site to fund it.
tsohost's "Lite hosting" looks good at £15 / year but I have no idea if I would meet their 5 GB bandwidth -- it's mostly text so I would hope so, a bit of research required I think Wink

and dedi's for less than £10 @ http://www.ovh.co.uk/dedicated_servers/kimsufi.xml

Re: Recommend a web host.

£8.99 excl. VAT /month
Thanks but the site is not worth that much.
I eventually went with "www.falcoda.co.uk", £18 (inc vat) for the year.
Surprisingly good so far.  Cool
I now need to find out how to make £18 per year from adverts.

"I eventually went with "www.falcoda.co.uk", £18 (inc vat) for the year."
In the industry we call this a kiddie/summer host
Bad signs:
invalid whois. http://whois.domaintools.com/falcoda.co.uk
Does not own servers. Is simply a heart internet reseller
Such low price considering the costs of servers at heart internet. which would lead one to assume he will do a runner

Good Signs:
Domain is oldish

Re: Recommend a web host.

Well they've been offering hosting since at least 2007
http://web.archive.org/web/20070923062414/http://www.falcoda.co.uk/
So I doubt they will be "doing a runner" any time soon.
What's invalid about the whois ?

Re: Recommend a web host.

i have just moved a few sites over to: www.one.com/en/
Very well priced with lots of nice features, customer support is 24/7 via live chat, have found them to be excellent so far.

Re: Recommend a web host.

The good thing about their package structure is everyone gets everything they offer, the price go's on how much hosting space you need.
On the 5gb package with domain name the maximum first year cost is  £ 10.80 (set up fee, hosting free for first year) then £ 10.80 for the next year, plus 0.90p a month for hosting.
Now one else comes near on price and features  and 24/7 CS, that i looked at before moving to them

Mike
