Problem with initial web page

Hi,
I've created a web page in httpdocs using nvu and it uploaded it and a video  OK using Firefox fireFTP.
But, when I try to log onto it [www.magnetman.plus.com] the page appears briefly and then the standard plusnet page comes up and says I haven't uploaded a page yet Angry
any ideas much appreciated.

Re: Problem with initial web page

You need to replace the original index.html file with your own in the htdocs folder.
If you don't want to replace it then rename it index.old.

Re: Problem with initial web page

you have replaced the index.html with your own so it should work but you have a redirect on the page delete this line
<meta http-equiv="refresh" content="1;url=http://webspace.plus.net/webspace_plusnet.html">
from your file and upload it again and it should work

Re: Problem with initial web page

@samuria
Is this another case of someone editing the original index rather than replacing it.
We had an identical case towards the end of last year.
In that instance I ripped the page and advised them of the offending line.
Other than that I can't see why anyone would create a web page with that redirect in the head.

Re: Problem with initial web page

I would just like to say thanks for the prompt replies. I've now put a link to the video on, that's fine. But... what i really want to do is attach some sort of streaming player such as You Tube has, so viewers don't have to dowload the file as such, can anyone point me in the right direction?Huh
Thanx again

Re: Problem with initial web page

The best and the most simple is to convert video to flash video flv format or if they are small even flash swf.
Most web editors will put the code in for you or copy from another site if your using a text editor
I have my videos in flash format at
http://www.crewetown.co.uk/sk8/vids.htm
The best of it is that it reduced the size from 40 megs to 10 megs as well this is the format used by Utube etc the best one is from
http://www.sothink.com/product/flashvideoencoder/
you may be able to use the trial if you are only doing an odd one there is lots of converts out there some free
