Problem switching to EE

Just to make people aware of a problem I have switching to EE. The date for switchover was 2 September. Openreach came & completed internal work. They then went out to carry out externals. However, they said there was a blockage in the cable duct in the footpath in front of next doors land. They told me that this was  Virgin Media problem as they installed the ducts and would be reported to them. They said it would be 1-3 weeks hopefully. A friend rang me on my mobile That afternoon & told me he had tried my landline but he could not get through. I then investigated & found that I could not make or receive calls.

I rang Plusnet on Friday & was told that it was EE who had taken the phone over. I then rang EE who basically said hard lines, nothing we can do. My landline phone is essential as my wife is unable to use a mobile. We are both elderly (I am 82) & I am worried about going out & leaving my wife at home without being able to contact anyone. Neither Plusnet or EE care about this. You get the usual sorry from them but that does not help.

It probably won`t happen to anyone else but I just wanted to make people aware.

Re: Problem switching to EE

Hi @ossettbob

Thank you for coming to the community.

I would like to see if we can get you some help with the landline and sent you a private message for some extra details.

Leanne.
