My needs are simple just somewhere to host my web name which I use for email only.
About 100Mbit disc space and 250Mbit of data per month.
What are the features I should look for and how do I decide which is best for me.?
Hostopia has been mentioned, is it something I should consider?
All suggestions are welcome.
Thanks, Graeme.

Quote from: Bob Yes, we probably should have managed communication for those with preview accounts differently.
I think what you did was fair enough for my meagre requirements and I can swiftly move back to the ccgi service.
BUT (there always is one isn't there)
Now the servers are not within the plusnet network I am now more concerned that you are not offering secure FTP. This means my username and password are flying though the internet badlands in clear. Surely Hostopia offer SFTP but I can't get that to work. How about it guys it can't be that hard or expensive.

They don't offer SFTP. The closest they have is SCP using their shell environment, however this feature is not supported by our CGI offering. You can specify a unique FTP password for your CGI account. You can also create FTP accounts that only have access to specific directories.

I'm very sad to hear this. It seems to me a hosting company that doesn't offer any security is not really serious. I guess my long term needs and plusnet's offer are no longer congruent.
