Plusnet protect free or not?

It used to be free but now I see that it is £2/month which makes it £24/year, i.e. almost the same as buying it directly from McAfee.  What is the point?  Has anyone else noticed this new policy?

Re: Plusnet protect free or not?

It is still free on unlimited and unlimited extra fibre https://www.plus.net/home-broadband/protect/

Having said that I wouldn't recommend it

I've never used a program purely designed to waste CPU cycles.

I did.  It's on your link that I saw that it was only free for 3 months.  Just scroll down the page and you'll see

Re: Plusnet protect free or not?

Yes and on the right hand side under unlimited fibre I read: first 3 months free then £2/month

Re: Plusnet protect free or not?

I can do better - since I took out 80/20 in 2012, I'm not liable to any price increases (according to the small print).

Re: Plusnet protect free or not?

Which is precisely correct

There are three products and this is the Plusnet Protect Costs

Unlimited (which is ADSL) - free

Unlimited Fibre - not free

Unlimited  Fibre Extra - free

Re: Plusnet protect free or not?

Unlimited is an ADSL package...
