Plusnet Protect always scans removeable drive

I have recently started to use Acronis to back up my system onto a 1.5Gb USB drive.

Every time I switch the drive on, Plusnet protect kicks in and hogs 90 - 95% cpu for 5 minutes or more. It fails to ask if I want the drive scanned and does not show anything in the Navigation Centre. I have set it to ask if removeable drives should be scanned, which works with pen drives, but not this Samsung one. There is no entry in Security History.

I want to stop this behaviour, without compromising protection against other threats.

Can anyone tell me how to tell Plusnet Protect to stop this?

Thanks, John

Re: Plusnet Protect always scans removeable drive

Thanks rongtw!

Yeah, that'd do it. I'm looking at Kaspersky at the moment but considering Windows 10 upgrade for my Dell Inspiron, which could 'brick' it. :¬((

Hoping to gain some time by amending p'net Protect settings, as alternative is to leave the external drive powered up all the time, which I'm trying to avoid.

If anybody else knows of a useful setting?

Re: Plusnet Protect always scans removeable drive

You could uninstall PN Protect and replace it with a free alternative to tide you over.
