Heres a thing,
I want to install the SMF but when I try, this is what I get...
----------------------------------------------------------------------------
Info
PHP support (>= 4.1.0) (available: 5.2.0, suitable: yes)
Database required (mysql, version >= 3.23.28) (not available, please check domain or client limits)
Disc space required: 6.84 MB bytes (available: 11 606 MB, suitable: yes)
----------------------------------------------------------------------------
Since I am limited to 1 MySQL database, how do I get round this problem?

Is this using the version available via Plesk (ie way out of date) or the current release downloaded from http://download.simplemachines.org/

Well, that was the very next thing i did after posting my question Jelv
I've downloaded the .zip (just so that i could have a look at it with a view to appending it's tables to my own MySQL database)
I suppose i would have to download the .tar and install it but i haven't got a clue how do do that.
Am i right in saying that you wrote a tutorial on the crontab method of uploading/installing .tar files? I seem to remeber seing something

A usertools guide is available - Using CRON to unpack a tar.gz file.

I'll see how it pans out.

Curiously enough after a second attempt and having f-o-l-l-o-w-e-d the instructions this time It all worked correctly. http://www.oddshapedball.com is proof and it is documented elsewhere on this forum on how to do it. Honest! but the most important thing I found was to do a backup in plesk of your pristine virgin root folder. i.e. www.oddshapedball.com where you intend to install SMF and if you screw up just restore it and start again. This time not do the man thing and follow the INSTRUCTIONS!!!
GOT IT?
GOT IT?
