Old website to close down

I had a website (www. p******.plus.com) which I can hardly remember setting up.  I used Mr Site (now taken over by TSOHost).  I have since replaced that site with www.p******.co.uk.  I didn't realise that the old site was still active until my wife stumbled across it.  How can I delete that old site?

Re: Old website to close down

@neilpont, you need to connect an FTP client to ftp.plus.net, log in with your Plusnet username and password, and delete everything in the /htdocs directory.

If you're unsure about an FTP client, try WinSCP.

Thanks - I'll try to work out what this means.  Think I have a friend who probably understands...

Re: Old website to close down

When I set up this old website, I was a full Plusnet customer. I now only have an email account with them. When I use the details I have with ftp software, I cannot login. So I "tested" the same details to try to login to the PlusNet member centre account page, they don't work, presumably as I no longer have a full account with Plusnet.........."

The only log in details I have seem to just get me into webmail etc

Re: Old website to close down

So, just to confirm before I take action - You want the website completely deleting, yes? I will not be able to recover it should you change your mind afterwards.

Edit: you should deifnitely still be able to log into the website etc. The username may not be the same as your mailbox details though if you log into Webmail using something other than the default mailbox.

Re: Old website to close down

Absolutely agree to it being deleted completely:

www.pontart.plus.com is the one that needs to go...

Thanks

Neil

Re: Old website to close down

The site has been queued for deletion Neil.

It should have disappeared by the end of the week.

Give me a nudge if not.
