Following a mess up by and with my domain registrar, we lost the use of the domain name we had in place. No prob I thought - buy a new suitable one and set it up the same way.
However, I'm really struggling to explain what I need to the Plus Support team to set this up, having done, I thought, exactly what the help guidance required.
I registered the domain: KnaphillBaptist.org.uk.
I updated the DNS entries at Domainmonster to say ns1.Force9.net and Ns2.force9.net
I raised a ticket 117848445 as suggested at http://portal.plus.net/support/hosting/domains/domainin.shtml, but so far, 5 days and 6 analysts later, it still doesn't seem possible to set the DNS zone up in Plus to host the domain, so I can mange it in the domains page on the member portal. They either want me to transfer the name in, or make more DNS changes at domainmonster without specifying what.
What am I missing?
Please use Knaphillbaptistchurch.org.uk as a template...
Thanks for all and any help!

You are right and they are wrong.
You do NOT have to transfer the the domain in, what you want is hosting only.
Hold on until Bob Pullen sees this topic - he'll sort it out!

Sorted.
There's a spurious £30 hosting charge that's been raised against your account but don't worry about that, I'll get it credited off.

I've now set up the DNS records on the domain and will wait with baited breath.
PS do I need to do anything special on the CGI platform?

Nope. The domain has been added to your hosting account so will accept HTTP requests as soon as the DNS records propagate
