Re: Monthly Cut Off Point for Traffic Allowance

If you look in your closed tickets you will find that on your billing date there is one saying your usage allowance has been reset.

Re: Monthly Cut Off Point for Traffic Allowance

Just been into the Plesk Control  and my Traffic usage has been reset to zero  , i presume on the 1st of Feb.    My Plusnet billing is in the middle of the month.
I am now assuming that Plesk Payh cut off point is the 1st of the month...  Anyone confirm similar action ?

Re: Monthly Cut Off Point for Traffic Allowance

Yes, and I think that in this trial phase PAYH usage is not linked to that of the Member-Centre webspace.

Re: Monthly Cut Off Point for Traffic Allowance

Futher to the subject of usage.......................
I have created a simple website and it is on the PAYH test system  ... size is about 10 pages consisting of 7MB in total.
Lets say 100 members of my club view the site once in a month . Does that mean usage is 7 x 100  MB  or  is usage only a fraction of that if they only view a couple of pages ...  ?
Cheers

Re: Monthly Cut Off Point for Traffic Allowance

Hi Keppy,
It depends on how many pages they visit.
Say Page 1 is 5MB and Page 2 is 10MB.  You have 10 people who view page 1 only and 20 people who view them both.
Giving: (10*5) + (20*(5+10))
= 350MB.

Re: Monthly Cut Off Point for Traffic Allowance

It also depends on whether you have images etc. shared across pages. After visiting the first page they should be cached and therefore not downloaded again when other pages are viewed.

Re: Monthly Cut Off Point for Traffic Allowance

OK guys ,
It is by page size and number of visits to that page/s......  dont quite understand what is meant by " images shared across pages"..

Re: Monthly Cut Off Point for Traffic Allowance

Have you got a logo that appears on every page?

Re: Monthly Cut Off Point for Traffic Allowance

Each element of the web page will be downloaded and stored as a separate file in the browsers cache. When visiting a different page which uses some of the same elements the browser will use the cached version instead of downloading a fresh copy. This speeds up the page load times and reduces the amount of downloading from your website.
