Meta Tags

Can anyone give me any advice, please?
I uploaded my website a couple of weeks ago & if I do a Yahoo search on my keywords, my site comes up beautifully. But if I do a Google search there is no sign of it at all.
Do I have to do something different to be noticed by Google? Or is it just a case of waiting for a couple more weeks?
Thanks,
Arthur

Re: Meta Tags

You can try manually submitting each of your pages to google site submit using the following link :  http://www.google.com/addurl/
and also you can go to http://www.sitesubmit.ca/ ; and check whether all your keywords, descriptions, meta`s etc., are working correctly and are being made most use of.
Good Luck...

When I went there to look at the addurl site, I found this in the information paragraphs.....
I think you might just have to wait a while for the crawlers to find your sit..... If you can get your site "linked to" from other friendly sites, (offer reciprocal links) then it also helps, as each time someone goes to the other site, it is mentioning your site too !..

(from the google adurl linky)
Please note: Only the top-level page from a host is necessary; you do not need to submit each individual page. Our crawler, Googlebot, will be able to find the rest.

Re: Meta Tags

Thanks for those useful links - I've used their addurl tool & will now see what happens. Their webmaster tools also look as if they might be handy.

Re: Meta Tags

You may also want to use Google Analytics (Free, like alot of their tools/services)
I've started using Google Analytics to backup/contrast the PlusNet Inhouse Statistics.
It's useful to some level for me as it fills in the pretty colours on the Map Smiley
Other than that, get your Keyword tags right and you'll be set Smiley

Re: Meta Tags

Only if you want Google to know who visits your websites. This could, if they wanted to, affect your listings within Google to Google's advantage, especially when it is a commercial site which relies on Google listings.
Why do you think they offer this for free. Just another way they can collect info on peoples searching / visiting habits.
With all this Phorm commentary it's just something to be aware of.
