Macafee end of subscription alert

Hi, I'm getting a windows security alert that my Macafee subscription ends in a few days, how windows would know that i'm not sure, and I thought Macafee was an included product with fibre extra ?

Just wondered if anyone else had come across this ?

McAfee can trigger alerts through the windows messaging service, nothing to be alarmed at.

Did you install it through your PN account here https://www.plus.net/AddOns.html?

Hi @sheffpete 

Our Plusnet Protect product (powered by McAfee) works on a 30 day basis that automatically renews on your bill date.

I've checked your account and I can't see any issues with it. Can you let me know if it actually does expire?

Hi, Yes did go via a Plusnet link, not sure if it was that exact one tho ...

OK will let you know if Macafee says its stopped, had this enabled quite some time so lots of 30 day renewals must have happened without any alerts tho ...

well Macafee seems to still be working, no end of service messages and if i open it via the icon it says all is secure ...

Ah that's good to see @sheffpete it's really odd to see the alerts have only just started coming through to you. 

I'd check within Windows notifications & system settings as well as McAfee's settings if there's a way to turn them off.
