Lot's Of Traffic - Should I Be Worried?

I received a warning e-mail from the abuse team concerning my site http://www.RossGoodman.com
This lead me to look at my webaliser stats for the first time.
This showed me two things:
1)
I had a gallery page that was automaticaly generated showing images from the Flickr groups that I belong to. If one of them posted a huge image then this could "burst" my allocation. I have changed this to show only "my" photos now.
2)
I am getting a lot of traffic from weird sources.

Two people in Greece seem to like me lots:

Hmm,
Check what (if any) keywords on the Webaliser Stats show from Search Engines, that's a start.
If you're getting alot of hits, on lots of large images, it makes sense
Sounds like you've done the right thing already.
I've had a similar warning due to a srever script misscalculation,
but unfortunately, it appears yours might well add up from the figures you have posted.
One suggestion, incase you haven't already check this one out.
Certain Search Engines will "cache" your website.
I had "Microsoft Live! Search", "Google Bot" and "Yahoo" Chomping all my bandwidth caching lots of my Images.
Which is where a file in your root web directory "robots.txt" is sometimes important to protect against high bandwidth usage from Search engine cacheing.
Just something you can hit in Google and check out,
there is pleanty out there to help you

The other thread I gave, the owner of the web site couldnt understand it and it took a while before it was twigged that he had photo's of the Airbus on one of his pages and it was being linked to by other people, it ended up as the number one item on Google, it took a lot of mucking about with CPI scripte to stop linking, so have a read of the resolution

I understand what you are saying, it was just the pattern of the traffic that was intreagueing me.
1 visit producing 6000 hits.
And then ~60 visits from a range of consecutive IP addesses.
I was more interested in the patern of the traffic..........

Hot linking is always going to be an issue because it saves them the bandwidth.
The best tip for webmasters is to try and keep image sizes to a minimum (atleast the smallest before loosing noticeable quality).
