Is there a problem with uploading to Plusnet webspace

Connecting to (Force9) homepages seems flaky. Sometimes it works, sometimes times out. A retry might succeed, or it might not.

I have done a successful upload, but the connection timed out on the first attempt and worked on retry..

Connecting to Homepages using FTP, listing folders and downloading files worked fine around 2pm today (26/04/2016)

Seems to have been ok from around 11:15 today here....application currently uploads every 15 minutes.

I've set up a monitor to log into the Plusnet, Force9 and FreeOnline Homepages servers every five minutes, do a file listing and upload and download a small file.

Will leave it running for a few days and see if it highlights any issues...

Edit: Been almost a full working day now and no failures have been reported for Plusnet or FreeOnline. I'm getting a 30% failure to the Force9 server though with the reason cited as authentication failure. I've a suspicion that might be something to do with the account I'm using to login with though

Hi,

I run an hourly stats update and use my plusnet website to host it.

I have notices that over the past few weeks that I have been getting failed uploads
The problem shows up as invalid username or password. As this is an automated upload and the username/password remain the same each time i can not understand why it some times works but but now getting to be mostly failures. 
I have tried manual runs of the stats program with mixed results as well.

Any ideas why this service has become unreliable.

Right, managed to narrow it down.

One of our six FTP servers is exhibiting an unusually high volume of login failures.All of the failures from the last 24 hours of my testing have come from this server.

We've an internal incident raised to investigate further and I'll update with progress (ref: 91753).

If that server tends to reject logins it probably gets assigned more often as it's lightly loaded.

Average load is actually slightly higher on that server
