Internet Problems - slow and unresponsive

Problems today with internet. Very slow. So much so that a Chromecast won't connect to TV. Router re-booted, DNS ip changed, to no effect. Pings seem to return quickly, speed test mostly timing out, but got 0.7/0.3 Mbps just now, with normally in the 40s. Something wrong.

0.31Mbps / 0.04Mbps with loss of 25.5%.

Fine when using mobile data (27Mbps etc).

Steadily improved in the evening and is now, more or less, back to normal.

Did BT have a network problem, or was this a localised issue please?

Hi @skck,

 

I'm sorry that you're experiencing problems with your connection and for any inconvenience that this is causing you.

 

I've tested your line and the test has found a fault which is external to your property. I have raised this to our suppliers for further investigation and they have advised that their estimated response time is by Monday the 9th of December. As it's an external fault, it may be resolved before this point. Our faults team will contact you once we've received an update from our suppliers.
