Installing Gallery2

I have been trying to install Gallery2 following the directions shown for Gallery1, but come unstuck once it reaches the MySql settings.
It appears that since the Gallery installation tutorial http://usertools.plus.net/tutorials/id/50 was written, Gallery2 now uses MySql.
As both php and MySql are new to me, I'm feeling my way round, but was hoping that setting up Gallery would be as simple as following the guide.
Could someone let me know what I need to look for (I'm guessing that phpMyadmin will give me info on the MySql details I need) and how to complete the installation of Gallery?

I would recommend that you follow Gallery's installation instructions:
http://codex.gallery2.org/Gallery2:How_do_I_Install_Gallery2
That has worked fine for me previously.
