I'm midway through a mail migration planned for this weekend and desperate to change the IPS tag on a domain tagged with Force9.
The whois contacts don't match my PN account and PN say they need a specialist team to type six characters into a box.
Can anyone here help?
Fixed! Go to the fix.

If it's your domain that you have ownership of, if it is a .co.uk, go to Nominet and pay the fee for transfer if it is that important. Probably quicker too.

Thanks but as I mentioned in the OP, I can't register with Nominet because PN haven't used any of my past or current email addresses as the registered contact and DRS isn't appropriate.

The normal CSC staff have no access to the Domain DNS systems. It requires them to request the task be performed by the Network Operations team.
Superusers are not staff, but they do have a direct line of communication into the business in order to raise issues, concerns and feedback from the community.

Thanks.
Seems a shame
- this can't be done online;
- that PN haven't maintained my domain's contact details;
- that PN can't confirm what contact details they've used on my domain; and
- that PN's NOC, in light of the above, don't work shift patterns to compensate for what they've implemented.

Solved it and am somewhat cross at myself for dismissing the potential extent of the stupidity of PN...
In a nutshell, I registered MyBusinessDomain.co.uk when Force9 existed.
At the time, the registered contact email address would have been postmaster@MyBusinessDomain.force9.co.uk (or .net).
When PN took over the show, they updated my contact email address for the domain to postermaster@MyBusinessDomain.co.uk - which isn't a good idea and therefore one I naively dismissed.
More fool me!
If you've got a .co.uk domain you registered with Force9 some time ago, likelihood is your contact details have been changed as mine were, so you've no need to suffer PN's poor online management or lack of responsive support, you can move the domain through Nominet with this knowledge.

I too wanted to move my hosted domain from PN, but didn't fancy the time and hassle involved in going through PN support, given the recent reports of how hit and miss this can be.
I can confirm that doing it myself via Nominet was straightforward and definitely worth the £12 fee. The only hitch was guesssing the email address held by Nominet. This turned out to be postmaster@[userid].plus.com, where userid is my PN account name. I requested a password reset with Nominet using this address which gave me access to the account, from where the registrar transfer can be done.
I coordinated this with the "transfer in" request with my new provider, including configuring DNS to process the emails, and the whole process was complete in a matter of minutes. The transfer was showing as 'pending' with my new provider for a while but email continued to be received via PN in the meantime.
My domain is a .me.uk one. Non .uk domains may be a bit more complicated.
