I can't update my websites

I've been trying since Sunday to update my website pages - on my main site and on my free domain site. I have been unsuccessful both directly from the Dreamweaver programme which is how I normally update the site and by using Cute FTP. The message I get via Cute FTP is

ERROR:>  [20/02/2008 18:10:15] Timeout (60000 ms) occurred on receiving server response.
ERROR:>  [20/02/2008 18:10:15] Failed to establish data socket.
Can anyone suggest what to do? I had a problem a few weeks ago when the sites were absent altogether, but that was rectified and the sites are there, I just cannot update them which is quite important.

Use ftp2.plus.net as the FTP host.
There is a known problem with FTP access. Please see the service status page or sign up for service status by email via the usertools link in my sig.

Thanks for the reply Peter - I have been able to update my pages on my domain using Cute FTP and ftp2 as you suggested. It is a bit more complicated with my Dreamweaver programme so I think I'll leave that for a while and see whether the main ftp.plus.net starts to work again. Thanks again.

Don't see why dreamweaver can't use it. Just replace whatever FTP host you are using with ftp2.plus.net in the sites config pages. I use dreamweaver and its easy to change.
