I am forbidden access to my own web site!

What HAVE I DONE WRONG?
Can YOU view my web site?
It should be here: http://www.holywellhousepublishing.co.uk/A_Hard_Fought_Ship.html
But I get this message:

Forbidden
You don't have permission to access /A_Hard_Fought_Ship.html on this server.

Advice please.

Yes, something is borked - as I am getting that as well.
It started at about 11:30 this morning and I am getting 404's on most of my pages - but it is random and sometimes works.
I also have a regular (every 5 mins) FTP upload that runs, but it is now timing out as well now:
30/04/2014 01:25:02 : FTP Connect Error, Error code = 530
30/04/2014 01:25:32 : FTP Connect Timeout

Re: I am forbidden access to my own web site!

The Homepages servers are being upgraded at the moment (ref: 131242) so I suspect it's something to do with that. I've given the engineer working on the upgrade a nudge although I'm told the work's nearly complete anyway. Keep an eye on things though, because the servers are supposed to be out of service whilst they're upgraded so I wouldn't have expected any visible problems.

I was about to point that out Jim! Grin
Anyway, we've identified the issue (it wasn't foreseen) and things should be sorted now.

Re: I am forbidden access to my own web site!

So why wasn't there a Service Status about the planned action as I would have known where to point the fingure

Re: I am forbidden access to my own web site!

Because the way the work was being carried out was in theory non-intrusive. It was simply package updates and each server (of six I believe) was going to be taken out of service, updated and then placed back in the live cluster. We do unannounced stuff quite frequently where the potential for problems is so low. If we announced everything, the service status feed would be deluged.
Unfortunately on this occasion a mistake was made.
Sorry.

Re: I am forbidden access to my own web site!

Well, thanks to all - including Plusnet - for the prompt response.
I thought it might get sorted quicker by posting on the Forum than raising a ticket.
But things like this can be quite unsettling to non techies like me - especially when one has just returned from holiday & is off again in a few days.
Web watching is just as important as house (or cat) watching when one goes away.

Yes - those thanks echoed.
All working again for me - as the FTP stopped erroring at 13:00.

Planned Homepages/Webspace Maintenance - Saturday 10th May Midnight - 8.00am
Web Space & FTP
Posted on: Friday 2 May 2014, 15:25
When's this work happening?
Early hours of Saturday morning, 10th May.
What does it affect?
Customer hosted websites.
How long will it take?
About eight hours.
What does the work involve?
We're making changes to the hardware platform this service runs on.
Am I likely to notice the work?
Yes. During this maintenance window any customer hosted website (not CGI) will be unavailable for a period of around 2 hours.
Is there anything else I need to know?
This work only affects customers who host static content on our homepages servers. This does not affect dynamic websites on our CGI platform.
Kind Regards,
Chris Purvey
Customer Support.
