As I am currently experiencing broadband dropping issues and have just had to click the button accepting that I might be charged if my equipment proves to be faulty (Oooh Matron!), I was just wondering if anyone has any statistics showing how often a router is to blame for broadband that goes up and down, and how often it is the wires outside?

I don’t know the answer. Routers are cheap enough from the likes of EBay so I keep a spare so that I can swap them along with cables and filter if I have problems just to make sure that the source is external.
