How are my stats?

"Cross posted"

hey everyone, ok so first off im not trying to be lazy or anything lol im currently googling all this to try and learn it all myself but id love some feedback from u pros if possible :)

my adsl checker estimates of 60 down and 16.8 upload lowest on a clean line

Im on an ECI cab and about 500 meters from it.

So for quite some time i had 50 down 6 up on an 80/20 fibre package, Then after some power cuts i was at 30/1.8 and ive had that speed for a few weeks until today when i put the hg612 in, now im getting 45 down and 3.19 up.

Plusnet said my line checks were all fine so iv had 2 bt engineers round but no faults been found, and the only thing the engineer really said was that im probable suffering from crosstalk.

Ive had dslstats up for about an hour and a half and was wondering how my stats look?

Re: How are my stats?

From what we can see, the stats look ok. Unfortunately, it's likely that you'll be suffering from crosstalk, which is just the nature of the technology.

Is there any problems with the actual performance of your broadband connection at the speeds you're seeing?

Re: How are my stats?

That doesn't look like cross talk - more interference from somewhere

The tone graph shows two things - a large gap in the 2000 - 2800 band which shouldn't be there and a rather large reduction in bits as it moves up the tone range - compare it to mine which has had a speed reduction caused by crosstalk

These are my stats

Connection speed (kbps):	42576 9998
SNR margin (dB): 6.3 5.1
Power (dBm): 12.8 6.8
Interleave depth: 8 4
INP: 46.00 43.00
G.INP: Enabled Enabled

Do you know which make of cab you have

Re: How are my stats?

thats what i thought, but im even lower then beginner when it comes to these kinds of things lol im trying to learn it all. Could it be some kind of power interference? yeh im on an ECI cabinet. Could the Power (dBm): -3.7 -3.7 be bad as well?

Re: How are my stats?

Do you think moving to a 40/10 package would help my upload speed some how? as the download is fine but i need more upload if possible Smiley

Re: How are my stats?

it would have no effect - note that Plusnet don't offer 40/10 only 40/2

Re: How are my stats?

One thing you haven't mentioned

Have you done the quiet line test - dial 17070 option 2 and it should be quiet

Another thing - is the router connected to the master socket or an extension

Re: How are my stats?

Yeh the quiet line test is fine. We only have 1 master socket and no internal wiring. So the Internet is going straight into a new split faceplate. Do u think this could be a DLM issue? As we did have quite a few power cuts at one point and I have been messing around with routers quite a bit.

Re: How are my stats?

I very much doubt it - DLM doesn't work that way
