Have Joomla 1.5.6 installed. Trying to install VirtueMart 1.1.2 and hitting a permissions problem on the ccgi server.
Using the extension manager in the admin panel and with ftp enabled I get the following when trying to upload and install the package
* JFTP::store: Bad response
* Warning! Failed to move file.
* JFTP::mkdir: Bad response
* JFTP::chmod: Bad response
* Unable to create destination
with ftp not enabled
Unable to write entry
with closer inspection revealing file_put_contents() failed to open stream in a temporary install directory
755 permissions everywhere whereas imagine Joomla expects 777. Maybe a VirtueMart installer issue rather than Joomla - anyone installed extensions automitcally with success?
Tried an install from directory having copied the manual previously extracted all the files onto the server and pointing to .../administrator/components/com_virtuemart
JInstaller::install: File '/.../administrator/components/com_virtuemart/frontend_files.tar.gz' does not exist.
so guessing that manual install instructions not entorely up to date with latest VirtueMart release.
Have browsed Joomla and VirtueMart forums but not seen anything corresponding to my experience.
Any pointers...?
Thanks, Richard
