Google Intercept/Proxy?

Hi,
I'm in the process of setting up a new Linux box at home and wanted to test DNS connectivity so ran a quick ping test against www.google.com which returned ....
PING www.google.com (212.56.71.35) 56(84) bytes of data. 64 bytes from plusnet-lcy3.plus.net (212.56.71.35): icmp_seq=1 ttl=60 time=8.76 ms
Can anyone enlighten me? I'm not using Plus DNS servers.
Cheers
FB.

Google will have redirected the call to a local cache.
You could try ntp.plus.net.

Thanks David. I figured the request redirect might be something to do with Google themselves as I don't touch Plus DNS infrastructure - just intrigued.
So I've done some further digging and I wasn't aware that Plus appear to run Google caching hardware in their network. Generic information can be found here: https://peering.google.com/#/
