Getting phpBB3 to appear at mydomain.com/forum

Hi,
I have installed phpBB3 onto my cgi space by following the guide on Plusnet.
To get to the forum I go to ccgi.username.plus.com/phpBB3/ and everything works fine and dandy.
However I want to have the forum as part of my website and so would like the forum to be at http://www.mydomain/forum
Can I do this and if so how?
Appreciate any advice.

Re: Getting phpBB3 to appear at mydomain.com/forum

Hello there,
You may have just wasted your time.
I believe once you setup phpBB,
it writes some entries into the Database for the Base URL when Installed,
which will then mean it's working accross two domains.
You will need to setup your Domain Records to get what you want.
Before you can do that, you first need to raise a ticket, "Change the CGI service to basic".
Once this complete you can then create your Name Records as follows.
Login to the PlusNet Portal. Click "Domain names".
Click the "Configure" Button underneath the Domain name.
LeftTypePriRight
wwwCNAMEccgi.plus.net.
domaname.ext.A84.92.1.4.

Notice the trailing .
These are important and cannot be left out.
You can follow this Tutorial Here if you're unsure of what I have written.
Hope that helps.

Thanks for the response.
I raised a ticket and plusnet suggested uploading the whole site to cgi, yet the tutorial states 'not recomended.
I am confused now.

The tutorial is out of date and refered to the old cgi server, which was pants. The current ccgi server can handle your whole website fine.

Re: Getting phpBB3 to appear at mydomain.com/forum

FWIW a few sites I've seen use the www. prefix  for the main content and a forum. prefix for the forums. You'd just need to point forum.yourdomain to the cgi server then ask for "change cgi to basic".
This has the advantage that if your board gets hacked its highly unlikely to lead to your main site being vandalised.
