Full Fibre is coming to MIlton Keynes, but NOT from BT

Hi all,

I thought I let you know that Full Fibre (aka Fibre to Premises) is coming to Milton Keynes.  My road is now dug up to install fibre cables right up to the boundary of our property.

This the quote from the letter I received from City Fibre: " Now, Milton Keynes has been announced as the first UK city to benefit from a city-wide full fibre roll-out in partnership with Vodafone."

I look forward to what services (and at what cost) are on offer from them once all the cabling is completed.

I wonder if Plus Net would be hiring City Fibre's network to offer us Fibre to premises!!!!

Many regards,

Chandu.

I'd be very surprised should this happen, given who we're owned by Wink

@chandu  CityFibre cabled our area months ago.

You’ll be surprised at the prices, 500 up & down at less than Plusnet’s 80/20.

@bobpullen,

I know exactly what you mean.  Does it also mean that PN has NO flexibility at all to outsource networks for the benefit of its customers?

Chandu.

Never say never, but in the current FTTP/FTTH climate I'd say it's unlikely.

I can see, on their website, that your 500mbps up & down is offered at £38/mth for 18 months contract and 100mbs up & down is offered at £28/mth for 18 months contract.

How does that compare with currently available options from Plus net and BT?

Regards,

Chandu.

I've got City Fibre coming to my street shortly too and from my reading around it Vodafone have exclusive rights to the household connections and no one else will be providing it.

Prices are very competitive when compare the to bt fttp products.

@chandu Vodafone prices include landline and if you’ve a Vodaphone mobile there’s a further monthly reduction.

@dvorak In the literature that comes through the door, and there’s a lot of it, it states Vodaphone is a ‘Preferred Supplier’ which suggests CityFibre is open to offers in the future.
