Freenetname/Madasafish/etc. Domain expired, Help!

Hi.

I've just received an email (out of the blue, as far as I'm concerned) to tell me that my domain has already expired and Nominet are in the process of deleting it.  I've had the account doe 25+years and this is the first time I can remember it happening.

Can you renew it for me, or is it something I need to do myself?

Best regards,

Paul Salmons

Ive escalated this to try and attract staff attention more quickly

@PSalmons the escalation has been picked up. Should be sorted by Monday if not before.

Re: Freenetname/Madasafish/etc. Domain expired, Help!

Hi Mr W,

I have exactly the same problem, and have received a similar message from Nominet. I have a domain <Redacted>.co.uk and two associated emails. <Redacted>@<Redacted>.co.uk and <Redacted>@ madasafish.com I would like to keep the email address associated with the domain. Do i have to get in touch with Plusnet support myself regarding this or can you progress this your self.

Thanks Mick

@MickTeer I'll add your domain to the escalation. I'm not sure that contacting support at this late stage will prevent the domain expiring. Even if you get someone in support who understands domains, all they can do is raise a request to NetOPS which can take up to 5 days, by which time the domain will have been deleted

@MickTeer

Mick,

Do you have a website on that URL?  MAAF is refusing connections to it.

Thanks to all who jumped in on this. I am retired but still do occasional engagements so the email associated with the domain is still in use. Seriously impressed with how quickly this was sorted out. 😊

It is indeed amazingly good - weekend SU cover for the escalation and great Plusnet networking in the  background with key players … despite they being on leave.  There’s more dedication around here than many realise.

That's great, thanks very much for your help.  Do you know if this is something that's going to happen to my domain every year now?

Best regards,

Paul.

I would not expect so.  The issue which caused this has been flagged for review … and domain management is expected to transfer to Greenby.
