Hi Gandalf,

No there is no option

The Screen shots below are what it comes up with and after the second one asking you to sign in for online support, you end up back at "square one"

Re: Freenetname/Madasafish Domain name has expired

Thanks @stonecross

Unfortunately while I'm unlikely able to influence the decision we've made about removing the ability to create a ticket yourself on a Madasafish account, I've raised the issue with replying to an already open ticket online for further investigation.

From 31st October 2022, I no longer have a regular presence here as I’ve moved on to a new role.

Hi there,

I'll pick that up with the relevant team on Monday for you. I've added a ticket to your account here to document getting that done for you: https://www.plus.net/wizard/?p=view_question&id=197632793

Hi Adam,

What account did you add it to? I'm not sure that I have a plusnet account.

Re: Freenetname/Madasafish Domain name has expired

Hi

Like many others my Madasafish / Freenetname domain (the-hardings.co.uk) has expired.

I was notified by Nominet on 27/12/2019.

Can you please do what's necessary to renew it.

Thanks

Mads

Re: Freenetname/Madasafish Domain name has expired

Hi
I had a similar worry, but my domain has been renewed until 2021 (I think). At the time, I was told by a Plusnet employee that plans to continue offering domains & webhosting were a bit up in the air and it might be wise to consider another source so I'm not caught out. If I decide to switch to another provider for my webhosting, would I be able to have the domain ownership transferred to my name (as it had been originally)?

Re: Freenetname/Madasafish Domain name has expired

I don't think there is anything to worry about for the time being, domains are renewed for a year when due. It's always prudent to do a quick whois check (who.is) to check around the time it's due.

When you do transfer, you'd transfer in full so registration and hosting is done by the new company. For example, if the domain is a.co.uk, we'd change the tag from FORCE9 to the new tag and in turn this would change the DNS servers away from us.
