FTTP Packages?

Have plus net any plans for FTTP pages soon. Open-reach will be running Fttp soon? I'd hate to have to change providers.

Re: FTTP Packages?

Hi @glloyd,

We did have a FTTP trial some time ago, however, it ended in July 2018. We will update our customers as soon as we have any further news to change this. I'm sorry this was not the news you were hoping for.

Thank you.

Re: FTTP Packages?

@glloyd

"Soon" is a relative term as far as OpenReach are concerned!!! 15Months after I got FTTP one of the streets nearby is still waiting.

At the moment you really only have a choice between BT and Zen of the well known ISP's. There are some smaller ones operating FTTP packages I believe.

Things may well have changed by the time your FTTP is available for order.

Re: FTTP Packages?

Thank you for your reply. I'm amazed with so many people having access to FTTP now PlusNet do not offer it. Once PN was a leader now falling well behind. I've been with PlusNet nearly 14 years but it looks as though I will have to leave if I want FTTP.

Re: FTTP Packages?

My view is that BT retail provide FTTP in competition with other premium price ISPs. Until we have budget ISPs entering the FTTP market and making an impact then it's not in BT plc's interest to undercut their premium price product by allowing Plusnet to enter this market.

Re: FTTP Packages?

We're having FTTP by Gigafast laid soon and prices are ranging from £48 for 900mpbs down to £28 for 100mbps.
That's including all line rental etc. That's well on a par with PN pricing.

Re: FTTP Packages?

There was an announcement last September/October that SKY had reached an agreement to provide FTTP over the Openreach network, rather than building their own. It's been a bit quiet since
