FTTH in Harrogate

Fibrenation are all over Harrogate HG1 4* area putting in FTTH fibre optic cable along the roads etc. Anybody got any idea how long it will be before they connect up individual homes and 1GB services goes live?

Also will it be Plusnet that can transfer me over to a new, better and so much faster product as I am currently out of contract?

Re: FTTH in Harrogate

You would have to ask Fibrenation for an answer to your first question.

As regards your second one, I'm not 100% sure, but may be a case of cancelling your PN account and asking FN to connect you, as this will involve leaving the BT network.

Hopefully someone will correct me if I'm wrong.

Re: FTTH in Harrogate

Fix
Pn won’t be provide you with FTTP- often it’s only a preferred supplier unless BT are laying the cable.

Hmmm - there is a rumour it is Talk Talk. Thank you for the swift replies.

Re: FTTH in Harrogate

Fibrenation was acquired by CityFibre from Talk talk at the beginning of the year, though IIRC TalkTalk remains as an "anchor tenant" i.e they're the main/only reseller of the service.

You'll have to deal with them directly, and cancel your Plusnet service when the time comes.
