Contrast with the webspace ftp. Uploading files to that (with the same FTP client) does indeed preserve the timestamps correctly.
Is this a problem with Hostopia that can be fixed? Having incorrect times makes it difficult to synchronize.

Quote from: Bob If you raise a support ticket explaining the situation then we can raise it with our hosting partner and see if it's something they're willing to support.
Done. Ticket 88943460
It said there is a 48 hour wait. Don't know if you can improve upon that Bob?

quote "FEAT"
I have requested the feature is enabled anyway and will let you know if/when it's implemented.

Quote this feature is not available at this time, this may be something which may become available in the future but for now we are unable to enable this.
(I'll spare you the "I hope this clears things up for you" spiel)
Seems a shame to me that in 2014 a hosting provider cannot preserve timestamps when files are uploaded using the only provided mechanism to do so. I can only hope that they see sense soon and support this. Would you have any further insight into what this really means?
Thanks,
John

It requires a fairly significant update to the FTP Daemon they're using.
I've been led to believe that this isn't trivial, however it's something that will be considered in future.
