FTP server passwords out of date?

I just tried to FTP into ftp.plus.net and twice failed to login with my correct PlusNet account username and password. My password has not changed recently.
Out of curiosity I tried my previous password (which I keep just in case) instead of my current password, and it was accepted: I was logged into the FTP server OK.
My question is, are the PlusNet FTP server passwords out of date?

FTP passwords should update automatically when the main account password updates, I've just refreshed the webspace component on your account which should fix this for you and synch the passwords. Do let me know if not as there might be another issue to look into.

Presumably if the automatic FTP password update failed for me then it will have failed for others too.
