Unable to access my website www.armadajazz.co.uk
Originally with freenetname, then Madasafish
FTP worked up to 6-8 weeks ago
[tagging on to this old thread because I can't find any other similar topic]
Moderator's note by Mike (Mav): Changed thread title to reflect issue after split to own topic.

referring to my original question :-
Unable to access my website www.armadajazz.co.uk for uploading / changing content
Originally with freenetname, then Madasafish
FTP worked up to October last year, then for just one day 2 weeks ago, when I successfully uploaded revised content
I'm using Classic FTP by NCH Software, which I've used for several years without problems
extract from Classic FTP Log of Jan 11th :
22:10:11 Connecting to server: www.users.freenetname.co.uk.
22:10:11 Connecting...
22:10:11 Response: 220 ProFTPD Server [freenetname.co.uk]
22:10:11 Command: USER bandstand
22:10:11 Response: 331 Password required for bandstand
22:10:11 Command: PASS ******
22:10:11 Response: 230 User bandstand logged in
22:10:11 Connected OK.
does any of this help in solving the problem?

That FTP log shows login has been successful.
I would expect to see a list of the root folder contents at this point - don't you get that? Possibly this would be a folder such as /htdocs which you'd have to enter to find your website files.

The extract from Log is of Jan 11th - the only time that I have been able to access my website since October, despite several attempts per day

So what does the log show now it's failing?
Edit: it's definitely working:

What IPs do you get if you do an nslookup at a command prompt? My result:
C:\>nslookup www.users.freenetname.co.uk Server: dsldevice.lan Address: fe80::9e97:26ff:fe94:acb8 Non-authoritative answer: Name: www.users.freenetname.co.uk Addresses: 212.159.8.151 212.159.9.151
Does it connect if, rather than using Classic FTP, you try Command line FTP from a Command prompt as demonstrated by Bob. This also connects for me.
C:\>ftp www.users.freenetname.co.uk Connected to www.users.freenetname.co.uk. 220 ProFTPD Server [freenetname.co.uk] 200 UTF8 set to on User (www.users.freenetname.co.uk:(none)):
