FTP Issue

There seems to be a problem with FTP to homepages last night and today intermittently, which might need a touch from @bobpullen.

This is the log from my weather app which uploads to my site.

Re: FTP Issue

Today it is still failing with an error messages like

'Insecure server, it does not support FTP over TLS' from Filezilla and

'FTP Connect Error, Error code = 426' from my weather app.

But it is intermittent.

Re: FTP Issue

Maybe it's to do with this...

mywebstats.plus.net uses an invalid security certificate. The certificate expired on 04 October 2018, 11:28:00. The current time is 8 October 2018, 17:24.

Re: FTP Issue

Hi,

I am getting the same problem. I use a weather program called Cumulus and am getting FTP errors reported. Does this thread mean that the problem lies with Plusnet?

Re: FTP Issue

Thanks @bobpullen and I know how busy everyone is.

@Penbwlch it was my Cumulus that first flagged it up to me.

@bobpullen

@Strat, where are you seeing this error?

The mywebstats.plus.net cert has expired and we're looking to get it renewed (ref: IMT-2866). AFAIK though, this should only really affect viewing of your Webstats via the portal:

Do you have raw weblogs enabled I wonder? I think this can be determined by the presence of a 'logs' directory in your FTP root.

Re: FTP Issue

@bobpullen

It was when I tried to view webstats via the portal that I received that error message.

I thought maybe the cert was also involved in access authentication to homepages via ftp.

Re: FTP Issue

Ah, OK. Well at least that one's going to get fixed. Doesn't bring us any closer to establishing cause of the FTP errors though Undecided

Re: FTP Issue

I think we know what's causing the errors.  Hopefully a change early next week should resolve.

This bit should be fixed now. Shout up if not.

Yes, the daily warning (since 5th October) has disappeared, now.  Thanks Bob, appreciated.

Re: FTP Issue

Hopefully the connection errors should have stopped as well?  (Change made on Monday morning)
