FIBRE On Demand

Hi

I just did an availabilty check for  my neighbour using https://www.dslchecker.bt.com

Curuous to check my upload speed - in line with recent posts on Unlimiteed Fibre upload speeds  increasing - I found this entry under my phone number: I note it says FTTP on demand is available.

Very surprised to see this .

Does PLUS Net offer Fibre on demand?

How do I order it and what does it cost?

Re: FIBRE On Demand

Plusnet don't supply FTTP on demand, it's mainly a business package with high install costs and a 3 year contract.

Re: FIBRE On Demand

Re: FIBRE On Demand

FoD shouldn't be confused with FTTP. FoD is essentially a bespoke product offered in FTTC areas and as a result is very expensive and currently subject to 36 month minimum term.

In its current form FoD  costs are subject to a £750 installation charge, then there's a distance related charge which are measured radially from the local Fibre aggregation node to your property that starts at £200 (for distances upto 199m) but rises to £ thousands, then the annual rental of  £1188. All those prices are ex VAT costs to the ISPs. There's also potentially excess construction charges too

But there are major changes to FoD coming in in Feb

Only a few providers currently offer FoD too atm, such as FluidOne and Cerberus
