Excel

Hi
I have some data I want to publish on a website that is n Excel. It's quite big and I would like users to be able to filter it.
If you publish it from Excel there seems to be a couple of drawbacks.

  • the page displays with a white background and is quite small.

  • thepage only opens propoerly in IE.

Is there a way round this that is easy to implement do you know?

Re: Excel

there used to be a Microsoft Wizard to produce a section of a web page, used to use it about 5 years ago dont know if it still exists. might be worth a hunt round the MS site for it.
Prodused a page that is independant of browser. Roll_eyes Cool

Re: Excel

Just a suggestion, as I do not know how "complicated" the Excel sheet is....
Would it not be possible to break it down into say 4 pages, and then re-produce it as a document type file, that could be accessed/presented as a web page, using notepad or similar?
Your viewers would then be able to select the page(s) they needed, and "filter" the information required, using copy and paste?

Re: Excel

Is it an absolute necessity that it is published in Excel? One route you may want to go down is using XML and using XSLT for styling/manipulation purposes.
