I am at the moment attempting to test a embedded flash audio player called xspf on my site. The player loads without a problem but the playlist does not all files are in a folder called audio. The message on the bottom of firefox is "awaiting www.beefeater.plus.com"; I'ved tried changing the plalist file extension from xspf to txt and altering the html accordingly but it has made no difference any suggestions?

try
http://www.beefeater.plus.com/audio/xspf_player.swf
as this will work.
Try looking at the tutors
http://www.boutell.com/newfaq/creating/audio.html
http://lists.musicbrainz.org/pipermail/playlist/2006-August/001003.html
Its a bit strange as I saved you website and the playlist work from my pc but I uploaded to my website and it didnt.
I have had problems with flash before with the cross main security not letting things load
The boutell site has a free improved player which may be worth trying

Problem solved.
If I put all the components in one folder ( html file, mp3's, playlist, and player) it works o.k. (weird).
Thanks for the assist!
